MA Gov. Baker Closes Non-essential Businesses
Governor Baker issued an emergency order requiring all businesses and organizations that do not provide “COVID-19 Essential Services” to close their physical workplaces and facilities to workers, customers and the public as of Tuesday, March 24th at noon until Tuesday, April 7th at noon. The order provides comprehensive a list of businesses that are considered essential, including healthcare workers, law enforcement, food, transportation and energy workers, among others. If your business is not listed but you believe that it should be, there is a link to request to be added.
Businesses that are being asked to close their brick and mortar locations are urged to continue to provide services remotely, if possible. Those that remain open are urged to follow social distancing protocols for workers in accordance with guidance from the Department of Public Health. Restaurants are permitted to stay open to provide take-out and delivery service.
Pubic gatherings are also being reduced to 10 people instead of 25.
